This “SECRET” Diet is one Shared By A Buddy in Radio in San Diego.
This 7-day Eating Plan, if followed correctly, will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being. After 7 days, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 pounds (and possibly 17 pounds) and experience an abundance of energy. This diet is said to have been created by a cardiologist for overweight heart patients in order to lose weight rapidly for health reasons.
Use your best judgement in undertaking any diet regime.

- 1 or 2 cans of stewed tomatoes
- 3 large bunches green onions
- 1 large can of Beef or Chicken Broth (no fat)
- 1 packet Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup mix (noodles ok)
- 1 bunch of celery
- 2 cans or fresh green beans
- 2 pounds carrots
- 2 green bell peppers
Cut veggies in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Bring to boil and boil fast for 10 minutes. Add Lipton Soup mix, reduce heat. Season with salt and pepper. Add 1 Tablespoon chili powder or curry. You can also add hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce to suit your taste. Experiment! Simmer and continue to cook until veggies are just tender. Chop fresh parsley or cilantro and add after you turn off heat if desired.
(Tim’s Note: I use 2-3 Tablespoons of unsalted Chili Powder, it adds good flavor. If I use Curry it’s Punjabs’ in the Gold Can, add a little at a time to taste. )
This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry during the week. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat, the more you will lose. You may want to fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day.
(Tim’s note: I add a tablespoon or two of Pace Picante sauce to flavor and spice up a a bowl a bit. I’ve also found that a tablespoon of Ken’s Steak House LITE Asian Sesame with Ginger and Soy Salad Dressing also adds a bit of Asian Kick and flavor to a bowl. Louisiana Hot sauce is good too, but use it to taste, as is a bit of Tiparos Fish Sauce if you use or like that. Experiment!)
Eat Soup and Fruit today. Any fruit (except bananas). Cantaloupes and watermelon are lower in calories than most other fruits.
Eat Soup and Vegetables today. Eat fresh raw, cooked or canned veggies until stuffed. Eat green leafy veggies. Stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat veggies with the soup. At dinnertime tonight reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Don’t eat any fruits today.
Eat all the Soup, Fruit and Veggies you want today. If you have eaten as above for three days and not cheated, you should find that you have lost 5-7 pounds and you will have more energy than when you began.
Eat Soup and Bananas and Drink Skim Milk: Eat at least 3 bananas and drink as much skim milk as you can today. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates, as is the milk. Today, your body will need the potassium, carbs, protein and calcium to lessen cravings for sweets. (Tim’s Note: Can’t drink milk so I have some cheese! Add a slice of American Cheese to soup!)
Eat Soup, Beef and Tomatoes: you may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef, a can of tomatoes, or as many as 6 tomatoes on this day. (Eat soup at least once today.) (Tim’s Note: Stewed tomatoes are great, Italian, Mexican style or original.)
Eat Soup, Beef and Veggies. Eat beef and veggies today. You can have 2-3 steaks if you like with green leafy veggies but no baked potato. (Eat the soup at least once today.)
Eat soup, Brown rice and veggies and again be sure to stuff yourself and eat the soup. You can add cooked veggies to your rice if you wish. Drink unsweetened fruit juices.
By the end of the 7th day, if you have not cheated on this diet, you should have lost 10 to 17 pounds. After day three, you will have more energy than when you began, if you do not cheat.
If you have lost more than 17 pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming the diet again.
This diet is fast. The secret lies within the principle that you will burn more calories than you take in. It will flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being.
Drinks: Unsweetened juices, Tea (also herbal), Coffee, Cranberry juice, Skim milk, Water, water, water.
Beef Substitutions: You can eat broiled, boiled or baked chicken instead of the beef. Absolutely no skin on the chicken. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef on only one of the beef days. You need the high protein in the beef for the other days.
Continue on the diet as long as you wish and feel the difference both mentally and physically.

No bread, alcohol, carbonated drinks (including diet drinks). Remember, absolutely no fried foods.

Drink plenty – at least 6 to 8 glasses – of water a day, as well as any combination of the following beverages: black coffee, unsweetened fruit drinks, cranberry juice and skim milk. (Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don’t need caffeine after the third day.)
This diet does not lend itself to drinking any alcoholic beverages at any time. Because of the fat build-up in your system. Go off the diet at least 14 hours before any intake of alcohol.
After being on the diet for several days, you may find that your bowel movements might have changed. Due to the variety of digestive systems in individuals, this diet will affect everyone differently. Eat a cup of bran or fiber.
